ARG Industrial Dyneema Winch Line, Size: 5/16 in, Length: 50 ft, Material Construction: UHMWPE, 12 Strand, Includes: Stainless Steel Thimble and 3 ft Protective Sleeve A 5/16 in 12-strand UHMWPE (Dyneema) line, 50 ft, finished with a stainless thimble at the working end and a 3 ft protective sleeve where the line runs onto the drum and past the fairlead. Synthetic winch line is specified over steel for three reasons: it weighs a fraction as much, it stores far less energy under load so a parted line does not whip the way steel does, and it never develops the barbs that shred hands and gloves.
