Nylon stretches. Sometimes that is exactly what you want, and sometimes it is the last thing you want.

Nylon has a specific gravity of 1.14 and does not float. It loses 10 to 15 percent of its dry strength when wet. UV resistance: good. Elongation at break approximately 15 to 28 percent.
