Galvanized aircraft cable—commonly referred to as GAC—is a flexible, small-diameter wire rope available in 7×7 and 7×19 constructions. Hot-dipped in zinc, this cable offers moderate corrosion resistance and excellent fatigue performance, ideal for pulleys, winch lines, stage rigging, garage doors, and general-purpose mechanical applications. It meets or exceeds federal specification RR‑W‑410 and ASTM A 1023 standards. While aviation-grade options exist, this commercial-grade cable is not approved for flight-control use
